Haffron
and his crew prepare to leave Earth and deliver
a report on their mission, but they still have
questions about the meaning and interpretation
of what they experienced with Emmanuelle. Human
beings are so complex, and so irrational, compared
with the aliens.
So, with the aid of virtual
reality, Emmanuelle and the crew revisit some
of their most intense experiences and analyze
what they have learned. It turns out the Emmanuelle
has learned almost as much from the aliens as
they have learned from her. Emmanuelle and Haffron
realize that they have fallen in love over the
course of their adventures, but now they have
to part. It is too dangerous for the aliens
to remain on Earth any longer, because the have
barely excaped capture. The aliens worry about
Emmanuelle: they don’t want to leave her
here without them. They beg Emmanuelle to come
with them, but Emmanuelle declines with real
regret: She could never be at home anywhere
other than Earth.
Sadly, Emmanuelle and
Haffron say goodbye, and the spaceship soars
beyond Earth’s atmosphere. But later,
as Emmanuelle wanders alone, she can see someone
who looks like Haffron. He seems not to know
her... and yet there is a sense of déjà
vu about this encounter.
Perhaps the Haffron
and Emmanuelle story is not really over.....
