Two couples go to spend a relaxing week on their friend ALFREDO’s yacht. KAREN and JASON are newlyweds, while CHRISTIANA is just trying to get her husband ROBERT’s mind off business. Once on the boat, Alfredo introduces his friends to his latest lover. AMBER is a sweet but naïve beach bunny who thinks Alfredo’s interests in her include more than just her gorgeous body.

Over dinner, the couples indulge in a contest Alfredo started years before: who can tell the most erotic story? Alfredo begins first with a ridiculous story of impersonating an obstetrician-gynecologist in Milan. Then Karen follows up with an erotic tale of sleeping with a soldier in a train crossing South America. Jason gets jealous, and storms off to bed. Before Karen can go to him, though, Alfredo flirts with her…and lets her know that he would be interested in both of them writing a story of their own. Karen brushes him off, alternately aroused and repulsed by the Italian scoundrel.

The next morning, Jason and Christiana meet by accident and talk. Jason admits his jealousy, and Christiana urges him to tell his story. He relates the erotic events leading to how he lost his virginity, and then the two of them go to meet the others inside.

Everyone listens to Amber’s tale of how she consoled a female friend during a break-up…and ended up making tender love to her. Christiana is very moved by the story—especially since her tale is a veiled account of how Robert cheated on her with another woman. Robert remains guiltily silent as the couples adjourn to their bedrooms.

After sex, Alfredo shows his homophobia and insecurity when he accuses Amber of being a ‘stupid, mixed-up little lesbian.’ Meanwhile, Karen and Jason get in a fight. She goes to take a shower…and finds Alfredo naked in the bathroom. Warning him ‘not to say a word,’ she has sex with him—until the boat’s engine tears up. Alfredo leers at Karen, ruining everything for her, and then goes to fix the engine.

When the motor proves beyond repair, Alfredo, Karen, and Jason set off in a small boat to seek help. Once they reach port, Alfredo makes an ass of himself and insults Karen, which prompts Jason to step in and act like a gentleman. Karen is entranced, and agrees to leave right then and there and go off with Jason on their own adventure.

Back on the boat, Christiana confides in Amber about her marital woes. Amber comforts her…and perhaps does something else, though behind closed doors. When Robert interrupts them in an attempt to apologize, he comes off as even more insensitive.

Then Alfredo arrives, sans Karen and Jason, to say that help is on its way. Christiana and Amber immediately take over the motorboat. They’ve decided that a loving, faithful woman is far better than the men in their lives, and go off to start a new life together. Alfredo and Robert are left adrift on the ocean, totally alone, to think about the consequences of their action.
