Tabloid television rules
the airwaves, showing the latest scandals of
the world. “The Other Side,” hosted
by Todd Matthews, is one of those shows that
focus on Hollywood scandals. His latest exposé
is a sitcom involving one of the actresses that
portrays a virgin on the show, “Best Buds.”
Her character has sparked a feminist movement
that is keeping the men of America from the
one thing they cherish the most, sex.
This movement is also endangering
the show’s ratings and any profits that
the network would like to keep its hands on.
As Todd Matthews interviews the actors of “Best
Buds,” he uncovers a conspiracy by the
network to write Brittany’s virgin character
out of the show and out of her contract. With
Todd Matthews’ help, the conspiracy backfires
on the network, and he moves on to his next
story, a sitcom love triangle.
The show, “What a Family” is about
family values, an irony considering the behavior
of the actors of the wholesome series is the
exact opposite of their characters. Todd Matthews
discovers that the actors are not only cheating
on their spouses, but they are also cheating
on each other.
The family-oriented sitcom
loses its ratings and the network loses money
after this scandal is exposed on Todd Matthews’
show; unfortunately, it is the same network
that airs “The Other Side.” Todd
Matthews soon finds himself unemployed after
biting the hand that feeds him.
Todd Matthews does not let his unemployment
get to him and takes his firing as an opportunity
for a career change. He secures an acting job
from a director with the only skill he has learned
while being a tabloid television host, blackmail.
But, the tables also turn on Todd Matthews despite
his fame and fortune when another tabloid television
show does an exposé on him.
